Cricket darts is a popular darts game that is played on a standard dartboard. The objective of the game is to score points by hitting specific numbers on the dartboard and closing them out before your opponent does. Here's how you can play cricket darts:

1. Set up the dartboard: Hang a standard dartboard on a wall or use a freestanding dartboard setup. Make sure it is securely mounted and positioned at the regulation height (5 feet 8 inches from the floor to the center of the bullseye).

2. Gather the necessary equipment: You will need a set of three darts and a scoreboard or scorekeeping system. A chalkboard, whiteboard, or electronic dart-scoring app can be used for this purpose.

3. Understand the scoring: In cricket darts, the numbers 15 through 20, as well as the bullseye, are used for scoring. Each number can be "opened" or "closed" by hitting it a certain number of times. The scoring is as follows:

   - Hitting a number three times opens it for both players.

   - Hitting a number subsequent times scores points for the player who opened it and closes it for their opponent.

   - Hitting a number that is closed does not score any additional points.

4. Determine the order of play: You can either flip a coin or use any agreed-upon method to determine who throws first.

5. Start the game: Each player takes turns throwing three darts. The objective is to score as many points as possible by hitting the open numbers or the bullseye. The scoring for each dart is determined by the segment it lands in.

6. Scorekeeping: After each player's turn, the scores are recorded on the scoreboard. You mark the number of times each player has hit a specific number. For example, if a player hits the number 15 twice, you would mark "2" next to their name under the 15 section. Once a number is closed by a player, it is marked with an "X" or another designated symbol.

7. Strategy: In cricket darts, players may choose to focus on scoring points or closing numbers, depending on their strategy and the state of the game. Some players aim to open and close numbers evenly, while others may try to accumulate points quickly by hitting high-scoring areas.

8. Winning the game: The game continues until all the numbers have been closed by both players. The player who has scored more points or closed all the numbers first is declared the winner. In some variations, players may agree on a specific number of rounds to play.

Remember, there are various regional and local variations of cricket darts, so it's always a good idea to confirm the rules with your fellow players before starting a game. Enjoy playing cricket darts!
