    User Guide

Welcome to the Advanced To-Do List

This tool helps you stay on top of your day. Create tasks with deadlines, categories and priorities — all saved automatically in your browser. No account needed.

    • Create tasks with titles, notes, categories, priorities & due dates
    • Filter by status: All / Active / Done
    • Search across all tasks instantly
    • Track progress with live statistics
    ๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip
Start with 3–5 tasks for today and assign realistic priorities. Adjust as you go — your list auto-saves every time you make a change.

    How to Add a Task

    1. Title — Keep it action-oriented: "Submit report" not just "Report"
    2. Description — Add any extra context or subtasks as notes
    3. Category — Pick the area of life this task belongs to
    4. Priority — High = urgent & important, Medium = planned, Low = someday
    5. Due Date — Optional, but strongly recommended for deadlines
    6. Click Add Task — it appears in your list instantly
    ๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip
Use actionable verbs: "Email client", "Buy groceries", "Read chapter 3" — not nouns like "Email" or "Groceries".

    Managing Your Tasks

    • Complete — Check off a task when done; it moves to the Done filter
    • Edit — Update any detail at any time
    • Delete — Remove tasks you no longer need (a confirmation prevents accidents)
    • Filter — Switch between All / Active / Done views
    • Search — Instantly find any task by keyword
    ๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip
Do a weekly review every Sunday: archive completed tasks, update due dates and re-prioritise so Monday starts clearly.

    Tips for Maximum Productivity

    • 2-Minute Rule — If it takes under 2 mins, do it now, don't add it to the list
    • MIT Method — Identify your 1–3 Most Important Tasks each morning
    • Time-block — Assign due dates to everything, even recurring habits
    • Eat the Frog — Start with your hardest high-priority task first
    • Celebrate — Mark tasks complete and acknowledge your progress
    ๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip
Limit your daily active list to 5–7 tasks. Smaller focused lists beat long overwhelming ones every time.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. All tasks are automatically saved to your browser's local storage. They persist across browser restarts and device reboots. The only way to lose them is to clear your browser data or use a private/incognito window.
Tasks are stored locally per device and browser. To move them, export your tasks as JSON (use the TODOIST tool), then import on the other device. Cloud sync is planned for a future update.
No hard limit. Browser local storage supports 5–10 MB, which comfortably holds thousands of tasks. For most users, this is more than enough for years of task management.
Recurring tasks aren't in this version yet. For now, clone and re-date completed recurring tasks. Native recurrence support is on the roadmap.
Use the TODOIST export tool to download your task data as a JSON file. Save it to cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) as your backup.
