Ajinkya Rahane announced on LinkedIn Last year, in partnership with the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, Pune we embarked on a mission to support and champion startups in the Agri-tech space. Today, I'm proud to announce that our vision has translated into action. Together, we've backed a promising startup Krushak Mitra Agro Services. This marks a significant step towards supporting agriculture in Maharashtra.

Technology is revolutionizing agriculture, and it's inspiring to see startups like Krushak Mitra Agro Services Pvt Ltd., leveraging innovation to enhance productivity and sustainability in farming. Our approach to investing prioritizes impact, focusing on initiatives that drive meaningful change in the lives of farmers.

This comes at a time when funding in this sector fell by 45% between FY22 and FY23, reports The Economic Times, citing consulting firm FSG. The funding slowdown for agritech startups is expected to continue in FY24, before bouncing back in FY25, adds the report.

Hemendra Mathur, Venture Partner at the Bharat Innovation Fund, says that there is a potential of 10,000 agri-tech startups coming up across India by 2030, which would create 10 million jobs in the process.
